Professional Experience
Marcelo Ramos Leite provides strategic legal advice on corporate law, securities, corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters. He is admitted to practice in New York and Brazil. Previously to joining the Firm, Marcelo has practiced at international law firms in New York, São Paulo, and Porto Alegre.
Marcelo has experience in M&A, corporate law, wealth, and capital markets representing financial institutions, private equity and venture capital funds, multinational corporations, single and multi-family offices, and high-net-worth individuals—including fund structuring and commercial transactions, particularly cross-border M&A and financing transactions.
He also has experience coordinating internal investigations related to domestic and foreign corruption, money laundering, securities, sanctions, insider trading, fraud, harassment, and other misconduct, as well as enforcement of disciplinary measures. Marcelo was a member of the investigation team of one of the world’s largest internal investigations and has conducted several others, including large cross-border investigations. The Legal 500 reference as being “singled out for his track record in internal investigations” (2023) and for "specialise in potential breaches of anti-corruption legislation and enforcement of disciplinary measures." Marcelo graduated with an LL.M. (Master of Laws) from Columbia Law School and an LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul Law School, with an academic exchange at Lund University (Sweden), and attended a corporate law and governance course at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
